15 Best Things to Do in Washington, D.C. in the Fall

I visited Washington, DC in November, and it was honestly perfect. Cool enough to walk the National Mall without getting too hot, and the leaves were still showing off their reds, yellows, and golds. Fall really is one of the best times to explore DC, whether you’re coming for a weekend or you’re a local looking for seasonal things to do.

1. Walk the National Mall Under the Fall Foliage

  • Sunrise and sunset are the quietest and most beautiful times. If you’re going in November, bring layers as the mornings can be chilly!
